Today is THE day! My Round the World adventure begins! Some of you may ask, 'Where are you going, Laura?'. Well, here is the breakdown of the next 8 months!
1) I'm starting my adventure in Istanbul, Turkey, where I'll join a Tucan Tour. We'll travel through Turkey, Syria, Jordan and Egypt before ending in Cairo near the end of August.
2) I'll fly to Nairobi and meet an Oasis truck, which will take me from Nairobi all the way to Cape Town. We'll drive for 74 days and camp most of the time! Yeah for overlanding!
3) From Cape Town I'll fly to Bangkok (I knew I'd be back!) in November and travel with Intrepid Tours to Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia before returning to Bangkok for a little break.4) I couldn't go to Asia and not go to Japan. I'll be there for 10 days over Christmas, say hi to some friends, and of course visit Kyoto and some of my favourite places (Nagoya 100 yen shop, LOFT, maybe some karaoke and my fav tonkatsu restaurant)
6) The final section of my RTW adventure will take me back to South America (where I got the idea to do this RTW trip last summer!). I'll start in Chile, hop on an Oasis truck and travel down to Ushuaia and back up to Rio, where I'll get a little taste of Carnival before heading home in March, 2011.5) I'll pop back to Toronto for 10 days to repack my bag with some warmer clothes and to celebrate New Years in my new condo!!

This trip is going to be amazing! I'm so glad you gave us an outline of where you'll be going, since you know I could never keep it all straight!
